Vision Development Project has been awarded a turnkey contract by Qatar Aluminium Limited (Qatalum) for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a new streetlight system across its smelter complex in Mesaieed Industrial City. The project replaces aging sodium vapour lighting with energy-efficient, ASHGHAL-approved LED fittings mounted on corrosion-resistant and hot-dip galvanised poles engineered for Qatar’s harsh marine and industrial environment. The scope is delivered across three phases covering the Power Plant area, the Smelter area, and high-mast lighting across yard and open areas. VDP’s responsibilities span design, procurement, decommissioning of the system, civil and electrical works, full testing and commissioning, and operator handover under an ISO 9001-aligned quality system and project-specific HSE plan. The 12-month contract reinforces VDP’s track record in delivering electrical infrastructure projects within heavy industrial environments in Qatar.
